Here is a story. While I was on vacation, my dog ran away. Now, this wasn't too unusual. He often escapes his invisible fence. (He's an outdoor dog.)And he always comes back. When he does this, we usually just lock him in his kennel.
So while we were on the trip, the people watching him put him in the kennel after he escaped. He was in there for a few days.
Then one of the people watching him came to feed him.
Ace bolted out of the kennel and ran off.
He didn't come back. When we came home, he still wasn't back. We looked for him, told everybody living within a few miles of us.
He didn't come back.
My mom posted on FaceBook. Nobody found him.
Then on Thursday we got a call from a teacher at my school. She had found a dog. She hadn't seen our Ace before, but she knew we lived near.
The dog she saw didn't have any collars on, shock collar or otherwise.
He was dead at the side of the road.
My parents went to check. It was Ace.
I hope he is in Doggy Heaven. He was an amazing dog.
He loved to have people shake his paw.
He loved his belly rubbed, but I never rubbed it, after he relieved himself on mom when she did...
He loved his squeaky football. He would fetch it, then bite it over and over until he heard the squeak.
He liked to chew on shoes.
He was an amazing dog.
I love you, Ace.

I am so sorry about Ace. Did did this happen recently?
ReplyDeleteIn February, our aunt and uncle's dog had to be put down.
We heard just about ten days ago. That's sad for your aunt and uncle :(
